On the afternoon of September 29, the university grandly held the Opening Ceremony for International Students of the 2025 Intake in the lecture hall of Boye Building. Zhang Wei, Dean of the School of International Education, and Huang Hua, Deputy Party Secretary, attended the ceremony. They were joined by heads of relevant functional departments and secondary colleges, all faculty members of the School of International Education, and all new international students. Two parents of international students attended the ceremony from overseas, and outstanding alumni representatives were also invited back to campus to witness this significant moment together.The ceremony kicked off in a warm and modern atmosphere. An AI host first reviewed the provincial-level honors won by the university’s faculty over the past year in the fields of international student teaching, national conditions education and educational administration. Afterwards, Dean Zhang Wei presented awards to the winning institutions and individuals. The ceremony announced the recipients of the first batch of Seven-color Star honors, including the Blaze Cultural and Sports Star, Orange Light Practice Star, Golden Spike Academic Star, Blue Anchor Discipline Star, Green Vine Leadership Star, Green Lamp Full-attendance Star, and Purple Gold Excellence Star. Huang Hua, Deputy Party Secretary, presented awards to the winners of the Seven-color Star honors.Following the award ceremony, Zhu Jie, a full-time faculty representative, shared her teaching experience and educational insights, vividly interpreting the student-oriented education philosophy. During the student sharing session, Li Sangrao, a senior Spanish student and winner of the *I Speak Su Dialect* competition, offered valuable study advice for new students based on her personal growth experience. Sha Haide, a 2025 freshman from Yemen, expressed his expectations and determination for future study and campus life. In addition, senior students performed a heartfelt rendition of the song You and Me. The familiar melody and sincere performance made the new international students truly feel the warmth and friendship of the NKUST family.Delivering the closing speech, Dean Zhang Wei extended a warm welcome to more than 170 new international students from 17 countries across three continents on behalf of all faculty and students of the university. She gave a detailed introduction to the university’s historical heritage, achievements ininternationaleducation, and the construction progress of Zheng He College. She encouraged all international students to actively integrate into the university’s international development, striving to be not only witnesses of the university’s progress, but also builders of a shared future. She urged students to set lofty aspirations and gain in-depth insights into China and communicate with the world in a spirit of openness, understanding and respect. Dean Zhang also elaborated on the beautiful implication of Xinle Road (Road of Joy and Prosperity), wishing all new students a fulfilling and rewarding study experience at NJPI.
